Bar Patatus opened its doors on 24 June 1992 under the ownership of Alfonso - and you'll still find him there on Monday to Saturday from 8.30pm.

We offer a pool table, four indoor bars and an outdoor one, table football, a great atmosphere, low prices and the best collection of partying photos in Quito. We speak English and German too, and after three cocktails maybe even Russian or Swahili...

We're famous for our parties and pool tournaments, while our cosy fireplaces offer the perfect intimate spot for when you want to "get to know someone better"... You could meet the girl of your dreams dancing on the bar or get chatting to some friendly Aussies, English or Kiwis. Many leaders of groups on adventure trips around South America use the bar as their meeting place, when they're starting or finishing trips. They also bring their groups of lively, hard-drinking travellers. That's a guaranteed good night out - beware of outrageous behaviour...

But Patatus also has its long-standing regulars, who really know the best places in Ecuador. You'll find them here every week, checking out our photos and chatting about life, friends and what everyone's been up to....
